World Refugee Day 2017 - “Among Us and With Us”

This year, we commemorate the 17th World Refugee Day. Persons applying for international protection and those to whom it has been granted live among us and with us here in Slovenia and are integrated into society in several important social, cultural and educational fields and into the labour market as well.

Working with Vulnerable Persons

The Institute for African Studies, in co-operation with partners from the UK, Malta and Romania, organised a three-day educational programme on effective education for people working with vulnerable persons. Close to 60 participants from various Slovenian organisations and institutions attended the programme, which was targeted at social workers whose work requires them to engage directly with vulnerable groups and individuals.

Consultation on "Migration and Human Rights," December 2016.

For the third time in a row, the Institute for African Studies organised a Consultation on Migration and Human Rights at the Asylum Home Vič. The purpose of the Consultation was to commemorate the International Day of Human Rights (10 December) and the International Day of Migrants (18 December).
